Iowa – Blake William Matt, born on December 9, 1982, in Lake Charles, son of Pat and Debbie (Theunissen) Nutt and Ricky Matt, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 39.
Blake was a graduate of Iowa High School and was of the Catholic faith. He worked at W-Industries of Sulphur for over 10 years.
Blake was a caring, softhearted man that loved everyone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool with Bayou Gator’s League. Blake was full of life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends cooking out.
Blake is survived by the love of his life, Stephanie Odell; son, Keaton LeBoeuf; parents, Pat and Debbie Nutt, Ricky Matt; brother, Josh Matt (Destiny); sister, Morgan LeBoeuf (Charlie); nieces, Alexis, Brylie, Leyton Rye and Braysen Matt, Carter June LeBoeuf; nephew, Cash Wayne LeBoeuf; great nephews, Maverick and Copelin Manning; Godchildren, Trenton Brown, Leyton Rye Matt and Carter June LeBoeuf; paternal grandparents, Fern Nutt, Robert Nutt (Roxanne), and his beloved dog, Pebbles.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William “Preacher” and Anna Mae Theunissen; paternal grandmother, Thelma Matt.
Funeral services are Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made.
