Bobbie Joyce Says Scott

Bobbie Joyce Says Scott, 82, of Lake Charles went to meet her beloved Jesus on the night of Wednesday, November 30, 2016  in her residence.

Mrs. Scott was born on August 19, 1934 in Lake Charles, LA where she lived all of her life and graduated from Marion High School.  She was employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for 42 years as Accounting Clerk 2.

She took pleasure from working in her flower beds, spending time with her family and she dearly enjoyed being involved in her church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God in many aspects; which were, Young at Heart, Dorcas Room, Widows on the Geaux and assisting with the Communion.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sister, Corky McNown and husband, Jesse McNown; her children, John Kenneth Scott, Jr. of Lake Charles, Gregory Blane Scott of Ohio, Pamela Denise Scott Istre and husband Mitchell J. Istre of Texas, and Susan Dawn Scott Hammond and husband Gary Scott Hammond of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Stormy Scott Raab, Skyla Scott George, Christian Myers, Emily Joyce Moran, Abigail Lise Hammond, Shelby Carmen Scott, and Sydnee Kate Hammond; great grandchildren, Sarah Nicole Cooley, Haley Denise Cooley, and Nola Grace George; nephews, Jay Wayne Holbrook and wife Sandra, Bryan Lee Says and wife Carrie and their children, and Keith McNown and wife Melissa; and nieces, Vicky Dudley, Robin Wilmes, and Kelly Says Garcia.  She also leaves behind many beautiful friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dicy Belle Says; her sister, Carmen Holbrook, her brothers, Thelbert James Says, Jr., Henry “Hawk” Says; and father, Thelbert James Says.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Gary Evers will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
