Bobbie Sue Welch Perkins

Bobbie Sue Perkins, 78, passed away on December 9, 2017 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Perkins was born in Shreveport and raised in Leesville. She is a graduate of Pickering High School where she was a dedicated member of their basketball team. She spent most of her adult life and raised her family here in Lake Charles. Mrs. Perkins was a homemaker, passionate about keeping her home orderly, and had an eye for decorating. She was a crafty person; she even sewed her daughters’ social dresses. She enjoyed dancing to country music and was an avid basketball fan. She is remembered as a very sweet and generous woman that loved to talk and never met a stranger.

She is survived by two daughters, Dabie Broussard (Gregory) of Baton Rouge, Shonagh Guilbeau (Greg) of Baton Rouge; son, Carleton Perkins (Shawnee) of Lake Charles; sister-in-law Suzie Frusha of Leesville; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of forty four years, Raymond “Perk” Perkins; parents, Jack Welch and Ivory Davis Frusha; grandparents, Wesley and Mollie Davis; and two brothers, Charles Frusha, and Gerald “Shine” Frusha.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 11AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Chaplain Drew Fontenot of St. Joseph Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Leesville at 2PM. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 5PM to 8PM on Monday, December 11. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at 9AM until the start of the service.
