Bobby Gene Brown, 78, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Sidney Brown and Felicia Dupre, Bobby attended Landry Catholic School in Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange Senior High School in 1957. He served his country in the United States Army in Germany from 1963-1966. He was a car salesman most of his life, working for various dealerships. He enjoyed playing golf, as well as fishing and shrimping in the Gulf, and traveling with his family. He was an avid football fan. Bobby was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of fifty years, Mary Lou Bell Brown; one son, Hoyt Lane Brown and wife Vikki of Lake Charles; one daughter, Jenny Rebecca Tyson of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Brennon, Ashton, and Sara Brown; and two great grandchildren, Hudson and Emery.
A visitation to remember and celebrate Bobby’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4 until 9 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Johnson Funeral Home. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved husband and father to the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home in Jennings, Louisiana.
