With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bobby Gene Duplissey, who left us on August 17, 2026, at the age of 82. Bobby was born on January 24, 1944, in Glenmora, Louisiana, and lived a full life rooted in family, faith, and community.
Bobby graduated from Glenmora High School and spent many productive years as a dedicated plant worker in the refinery industry, retiring from Alcoa. He was a faithful member of Christian World Church, where he found joy and connection with his community.
For nearly 54 wonderful years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Carolyn Breaux Duplissey. Bobby is survived by his son Gary Duplissey and his wife Cathy, and he cherished every moment with his grandson, Chase Duplissey and his wife Brooke. He was a proud great-grandfather to Grey and Sage Duplissey. Bobby is also survived by his brothers-law, Jason Breax and wife Tracey, and Tommy Breaux and wife Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed dancing, fishing, and diving into his passion for ancestry and genealogy. He loved learning about and documenting his family's history each discovery a celebration of where he came from.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday, August 20, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.
