Bobby Leblanc

September 23, 1946 — May 25, 2021

Robert John “Bobby” LeBlanc, 74 passed away on May 25, 2021 in his lifelong residence he lovingly named “The Block” in Lake Charles. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Insulators Local 112. He was a dedicated union man who worked at local refineries for over 30 years until he retired 14 years ago.

He loved NASCAR racing, especially his #3 Dale Earnhardt. He never missed the NHRA Spring National at Houston Motor Speedway. He also enjoyed watching football and was a die-hard Cowboys fan. “How ‘bout them Cowboys!” If you were honored to be given a nickname by Bobby, no matter how much you may have hated it, it meant he loved you.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sandy Kennon and husband Michael, Candice Plummer and husband Terry; his stepdaughter, Sherrie Morris and husband Kevin; his grandchildren, Sean Kennon and wife Abby, Gavin Kennon, Tyler and Trevor Plummer, Sydney Garcia and Kenzie Morris; his great grandchildren, Ramsey and Fisher Kennon; his sister, Betty Mueller, and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rhea and Sidney LeBlanc; his brother, Roy “Bucky” LeBlanc; his sisters, Mary Anne “Nanny” Wood, and Laura “La La” Thibodeaux; and his godson Kenny Viga.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at University Baptist Church in Lake Charles.  Burial will follow in Prien Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, May 27, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service
