Bobby Joe Morris

Bobby Joe Morris was welcomed into the world on November 3, 1957 by his parents, Viola Fox Morris and James Morris, and his older siblings, Gayla and Gary. Early in the morning on May 11, 2025, he was reunited with his parents and his Heavenly Father.

Bobby spent most of his life serving and caring for others, beginning with his parents, and continuing with many other family members and friends. Although he never had kids of his own, he always made sure his many nieces and nephews never went without things they needed. He had a love for the Lord and showed that by being an active member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church while he was able to serve there. When he wasn’t serving at church, taking care of his loved ones or spoiling children, you could find him selling produce with his friend Paul or helping to boil crawfish at Seafood Palace.

Those left to honor Bobby's memory are his sister, Gayla Trahan (J.D.); his brothers, Gary Morris, and Charles Morris, all of Lake Charles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Emma Trahan; his brother-in-law, Eugene Trahan; his sister-in-law, Wanda Morris; his nieces, Erin Morris, and Jennifer Dupre; and his nephews by marriage, Gerald Courmier and Douglas Dupre.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 4321 Lake St., with Rev. Terrell Banks officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the start of the service at 6:00 PM. Burial will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Mitchell Cemetery, Hwy 111, Anacoco, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles to assist with outstanding expenses.
