Bonnie Jane Cormier, born March 30, 1936, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on August 29, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, love, and service to others. Jane spent a lifetime taking care of the people around her and loving her family with her whole heart. She gave freely of herself, always making sure those she loved were cared for, supported, and knew just how much they meant to her. Some of her greatest joys were found in the simple moments of being surrounded by the people she loved. Jane's Catholic faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1255, where she shared in fellowship, faith, and service to others. Her faith remained a source of strength throughout her life and was reflected in the love and care she showed to those around her. She spent many years making beautiful and delicious cakes for countless celebrations. Her cakes became part of treasured moments for so many families throughout the years. What she created was more than a simple cake; it became part of someone's special memory, and those memories will continue to be shared for generations. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray John Cormier; her son, John Elliot Cormier; her son-in-law, Warren Evans; her parents, Alfred and Emma Latiolais; her in-laws, Maurice and Theresa Cormier; her sister, Connie Guilbeaux; her brother, Carol James "Brud" Latiolais; and her brother-in-law, Earl Cormier. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Patricia Evans of Hamshire, Texas; Rocky Cormier and his wife, Sarah, of Sulphur, Louisiana; and Denise Miller and her husband, Lance, of Sulphur, Louisiana. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Michael Miller and his wife, Sunny, of DeQuincy, Louisiana; Elaina Navarre and her husband Dylan of Eunice, Louisiana; Crystal Deckert and her husband, Brandon, of Hamshire, Texas; Trent Evans and his wife, Johnnie, of Raywood, Texas; Rocky Evans and his wife, Jessica, of Hamshire, Texas; Courtney Fuselier and her husband, Michael, of DeQuincy, Louisiana; and David Lovejoy and his wife, Jessica, of Prairieville, Louisiana. Her beautiful legacy continues through her 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, VJ Latiolais, Wydell Latiolais, Raymond Latiolais, Harry Lee Latiolais, Michael Latiolais, Carol Ann Guidroz, Carlene Savage, Mark Latiolais, and Timmy Latiolais. As well as extended family, and the many friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Those who knew her will remember her grace and beauty, her giving spirit, and the special way she made those around her feel cared for and loved. While her family will miss her more than words can express, they find comfort in knowing that she passed peacefully at home and in their Catholic faith that this goodbye is not forever. They can only imagine the beautiful reunion as she was welcomed into eternal life and reunited with all those she loved who went before her. Her earthly work is complete, but the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, and the family she cherished will carry her legacy forward for generations to come. A Mass will be held for Jane at 1 PM, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. The family will receive guests starting at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the hall of the church. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM before moving to the church. After Mass burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery - North under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.
