Bonnie Rae Hawkins, born on December 28, 1938, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Sulphur, LA. Bonnie was known for her altruistic nature and caring spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her intelligence and compassion left a lasting impact on all.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Mary LeBleu, Marcus Cornell, Paul Cornell Sr. and Lori Hamrick-Opio. She is also survived by a multitide of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her family deeply.
She is also survived by her siblings Helen Boudreaux and Bobbie Lee Franklin; late Jeanie Jones' carried her home in spirit.
A devoted Christian, Bonnie’s faith guided her throughout her life, instilling values of kindness and service in all her endeavors. She will be remembered for her warmth and open heart to her family and community. Bonnie Rae Hawkins will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and gaining knowledge from her never-ending research and life experiences.
Though there are many who loved and cherished Bonnie, her ceremony will be a private event.
