Bonnie Lou Thibodeaux, 69, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:45 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in a local hospice facility.
Ms. Thibodeaux was born on January 21, 1947 in Church Point and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She truly enjoyed being a school bus driver with the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 30 years.
She had a passion for French music and played the steel guitar with several bands through the years. Ms. Thibodeaux was a member of the Cajun French Music Association. In her past time, she enjoyed making rosaries and also visiting the casinos.
Those left to cherish her memory are a brother, Terry Wayne Thibodeaux (Nanako) of Lake Charles; Godmother and aunt, Dorothy Faul of Lake Charles; uncles, Ray Thibodeaux of Moss Bluff and Robert Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind numerous wonderful caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and John Thibodeaux; two brothers, Mike and John Hugh Thibodeaux; a sister, Patricia LaBiche; an infant twin; her Godfather, Wilbert Daigle and his wife/Bonnie’s best friend Roberta; and her beloved dog, Bingo.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
