It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brad Allen Barbery, age 46, who left this world on July 4, 2026. Born on January 20, 1980, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Brad was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He spent his formative years in Iowa, where he graduated from Iowa High School and continued to build a life filled with love and laughter.
Brad was a devoted son to his mother, Bonnie Bowman Olmsted, and his father, Henry Barbery. He is survived by his brother Eric Barbery (Misty), his sister Kayla Barbery, his stepbrother, Casey Barbery and his cherished nieces and nephews: Blaiden, Mercedez, Isaac, Blaze, Addilyn, Zoey, and Memphis. He held each of them dear and cherished the moments they spent together.
A proud member of the National Guard, Brad served his country with honor and commitment. His spirit of service extended into his personal life, as he was known for his kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Brad had a deep affection for animals, especially his beloved dog, LuLu. He enjoyed collecting comic books, immersing himself in the worlds within their pages, and found joy in nature walks and camping adventures. Sundays were often spent at Bethany Baptist Church in LeBleu Settlement, where his faith and community provided him with strength and solace.
