Brad James Mallett

December 16, 1975 — June 3, 2026

Iowa

Today, we say goodbye to our son, Brad.

It is hard to put into words what Brad meant to us and to so many others. Like all families, we shared good times and difficult times, victories and struggles. But through it all, one thing never changed Brad had a big heart and cared deeply about the people and animals he loved.

From the time he was a young boy, Brad loved horses. Some of our favorite memories are watching him ride, show horses, and spend time doing what made him happy. Those years brought him great joy and helped shape the man he became.

That love for animals never left him. Brad was an avid dog lover and found comfort, companionship, and happiness in his dogs. Pepper, Bosco, Sasha, and Bella were more than pets to him; they were family. Anyone who knew Brad knew how much he loved them and how much joy they brought to his life.

As he grew older, Brad joined the family business and became one of our top salesmen. He had a

natural gift for connecting with people. Customers trusted him because he was genuine. He wasn't focused on making a sale; he was focused on helping people.

What we will remember most about Brad wasn't his career or any accomplishment. It was his heart. Brad cared about people. He hated seeing someone struggle. He was the kind of person who would help someone when many others would simply walk away.

Brad spent much of his life battling addiction. We are not going to pretend that wasn't part of his story. Addiction is a terrible disease that affects families across this country every day. It was a battle Brad fought for many years.

In recent years, he also faced cancer with courage and determination.

But if you knew Brad, you know those battles are not what defined him.

What defined him was his kindness. What defined him was his willingness to help someone in need. What defined him was his love for family, friends, animals, and the people around him.

Brad leaves behind his mother, Diane, me (his father, Lee), many family members and friends, his beloved dogs Pepper, Bosco, Sasha, and Bella, and countless people whose lives were touched by knowing him.

Brad also came from strong family roots that helped shape the man he became. He was blessed by the legacy of his grandparents, Wilfred James Mallett and Leola Benoit, and Dr. A.L. Clark and Zella Clark.

He was loved deeply, and he will be missed by more people than he probably ever knew.

As parents, there are no words that can truly describe this loss. But there is comfort in knowing that his struggles are over and that he is finally at peace.

We hope people remember Brad for the good he brought into this world. We hope they remember his smile, his sense of humor, his love for horses, his love for his dogs, and the compassion he showed others.

Most of all, we hope they remember that every person is more than the battles they fight.

Rest easy, son.

You were loved more than you ever knew, and you always will be.

Now you are in God's hands.
