Brenda Louise Mott, aged 80, passed away on October 10, 2024, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Born on August 18, 1944, Brenda dedicated her life to education, community service, and her faith. Brenda graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in Home Economics.
Brenda's career spanned several decades, which started with 20 plus years of helping to running the family farming business, she also taught Home Economics at the high school level, served as a kindergarten teacher in a Catholic school, and worked as a Real Estate Agent in Lake Charles. Her passion for education and nurturing young minds was evident in every role she undertook.
A devout member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa, Louisiana, Brenda was deeply involved in her church community. She served as a chairperson for the St. Raphael Annual Bazaar in the 1970s, taught Catholic Catechism, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters for many years. Her commitment extended beyond her church activities as she also led a Cub Scout Troop, demonstrating her dedication to youth development.
Brenda's hobbies included sewing, decorating, and painting, activities that showcased her creative spirit. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother, always striving to support and inspire her children to achieve their best.
She is survived by her children, Dewanna Louise Mott, Tyrell Wayne Mott, and daughter-in-law Sandy Munoz Mott; sisters Pasty Johnson-Cummings and Penny Busnell. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Jewel Elaine Manuel, father Holton Ernest Meyers, brothers Kenneth Wade Meyers and Steve Manuel, maternal grandparents Franklin L. and Mami Christine Duplechain, and ex-husband Gerald Wayne Mott.
Brenda's life was a testament to her giving nature and enduring commitment to her family, friends, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The memorial services will take place from 10 am to 12 pm on October 26, 2024, at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home at 505 US-90, Iowa, Louisiana.
