Brian Keith George, 69, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 28, 2025 at a local care facility, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Brian was born on January 16, 1956, in Lake Charles to Dorothy and Edward “Kibby” George. He graduated from Lake Charles High School and was an electrician by trade. Brian came from a large Lebanese family and took pride in his roots. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and as everyone knows, LSU’s biggest fan. He never met a stranger and was blessed to have many friends who he left with lasting memories and stories to tell. He possessed a quick wit and always had a twinkle of mischief in his eyes until the very end. While he loved the outdoors and the Tigers, nobody could argue his biggest joy in life was his three daughters, Ashley, Brianne, and Desiree’. His place in their hearts and lives is indelible; his humor, intelligence, and strength woven throughout their being. They put their heart and souls into taking care of him these last years.
Brian is survived by his three daughters, Ashley George-Menard (Dr. Keith Menard, O.D.), Desiree’ George, and Brianne George. He was privileged to have bonus daughters Katrina Gutierrez and Beth (Kenny) Moore in his life as well. Brian loved his grandchildren and especially loved watching them play sports. Payton, Jane Claire, Melia, Nolan, Jackson, Caroline, Jace, Alexia, Isabella, Brooklyn, Samantha, and Temperance will miss him dearly. Brian’s siblings are deeply mourning their brother’s passing, and they were the source of much laughter, joy, and doting care his entire life. He is survived by his sisters, Jamille Manino, and Barbara (Harry) Leger, and brothers, Wayne and Layne George. Being one of seven children, and an even larger Lebanese clan, one can only imagine the stories (and legends) left for them to pass on. He will be missed by all his very special cousins, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Kibby” and Dorothy Chaisson George, sister, Phyllis George McDonald Cormier, brother, Kent George, his niece Tammy George, and his nephew with whom he had a special bond, Brandon Paul Manino.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday October 2, 2025 at the chapel in Johnson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A celebration of his life will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Father Jeffery Starkovich officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
