Lake Charles

Camille Bridget Leone Albers, 89, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Albers was born on June 15, 1937, in Lake Charles. She was a proud graduate of St. Charles Academy. She lived most of her life in the Lake Charles and Sweetlake communities. In 1954, she married her sweetheart, George, and together they built a loving home and raised their family.

Mrs. Albers enjoyed sewing and lovingly created clothing for her children for many years. Among her family's most treasured memories were the beautiful Easter dresses she made for her daughters. She, alongside her husband, George, enjoyed cheering on the McNeese Cowboys as they proudly followed their sons' football games. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and never passed up a game of BINGO. Mrs. Albers devoted her life and her love to her family. She was a loving, supportive, and encouraging mother who found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She later welcomed the opportunity to take care of her grandchildren when needed. A time that was cherished by all.

Mrs. Albers was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and in 2024, she became a resident of Villa Maria Retirement Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Judy Tramonte (Tommy), George J. Albers, Jr. (Lorna), Susan Meaux (Azarie) Nancy Albers Daigle (Joel), and Diana Palma (James); grandchildren, Leslie Mire Guillory (Ed), Neil Mire (Sarah), Eric Mire (Mandi), Holly Elizabeth Albers, John Ellender, Lindsey Meaux Gray (Mike), Brandon Meaux (Michelle), Laikin Rougeau, Bryan “B.J.” Guidry (Taylor), Dr. Christine Palma Mauk (Dr. Kyle Mauk); Michael Palma; twelve great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; two sisters, Margie Thom (J.M.) and Loretta Persing (Mike); two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Albers and Dorothy Albers; numerous nieces and nephews and her friends of Villa Maria.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, George Joseph Albers, Sr.; brother, Lucas “L.J.” Leone; parents, Sam and Lena Timpa Leone and maternal grandparents, Nicola and Bridgette Timpa.
