Candace Montgomery Vincent passed away on May 27, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Born and raised in Sulphur, Louisiana, Candace was born to Harry Montgomery and the late Dorthy “Dot” Montgomery.
Candace was the beloved spouse of the late Bradley Vincent and the parent of one child, Heidi Vincent. Candace was also the Nanny “Brown Nanny” of Bradlei Farnum, Sailor Rose, Georgi’ Mais’, and Stagg Alexander.
Those left to cherish Candace’s memory include mother-in-law Nina Vincent; brothers-in-law Matt Vincent (Dee), Rusty Vincent, and Hunter Vincent (Jayme); Uncle Fred Aucoin (Patsy); cousin Will Aucoin (Regina); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
With special love and heartfelt gratitude, the family acknowledges Dee Vincent, a beloved sister-in-law, for providing devoted care during times when others could not be present. Deep appreciation is also extended to Chauncey Davis, a heaven-sent adopted brother, whose unwavering love and support meant more than words can express. You were the purple—strength, loyalty, and love—through it all.
A true black cat enthusiast, Candace had a way of taking all beings in—friend or faux. Animals were never seen as stray, only under care. There was a natural instinct to gather and protect, offering shelter without condition.
Candace also held a deep love for Mardi Gras—the colors, the music, and the spirit of celebration. A purple glow now stands as remembrance, symbolizing joy, reverence, and Candace’s lasting presence.
Known as a hidden gem, Candace carried a spontaneous spirit and a deep love for moonlight. That love made Candace a bright star—one that shone quietly, yet unmistakably, in the lives touched along the way.
Candace Montgomery Vincent will be remembered for kindness without condition, care without question, and a light that continues to glow beyond this life.
Services for Candace will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Houston River Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Gothrup officiating.
