Carl R. Holmes, 79, of passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in a local hospital.
Mr. Carl was born on August 25, 1936 to Nelson and Buelah Holmes in Pittsburg, PA. He enjoyed passing his time by building and collecting model trains. He also enjoyed passing his time while watching westerns, shopping on QVC, and making memories with family and friends. Carl was also a retired Teamster from TMT.
Left to cherish Mr. Carl’s memory are his two sons, Jeffrey Scott Holmes, of Gonzales, LA, and Craig Holmes and wife Penny, of Moss Bluff, LA; six grandchildren, Brandon Holmes, Bryan Holmes, Brent Holmes, Matthew Holmes, Julie Kitchens, and Kaitlyn Holmes; two great grandchildren, Bryson and Brayden Kitchens; as well as his companion Zelma Smith.
Mr. Carl is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Holmes; as well as his parents Nelson Holmes and Buelah Coret.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Terry and Debbie Carbone for the care and compassion given to Mr. Carl.
