Carl Ray “Mac” McFarlain, Sr., 65, of Moss Bluff entered eternal rest at 5:17 PM on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. McFarlain was born on October 27, 1951 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Merlin “Mutt” and Annie Mae (Fruge) McFarlain, resided in the Lake Charles area all of his life and attended Westlake High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. McFarlain was a rigger for Turner Industry at Firestone and Citgo for many years until falling sick. He was a man who enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and trapping.
He will be remembered for his kind, forgiving heart and for his outgoing personality. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is deeply loved and will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.
Those left to cherish his memories and mourn his loss are three children, Randy McFarlain (Nicole) of Moss Bluff, Sonya McFarlain of Sulphur, and Carl McFarlain, Jr. of Lake Charles; four siblings, Carolyn Bozeman (Warren) of Lake Charles, Joey McFarlain (Vanita Hudspeth) of Westlake, Ronnie McFarlain (Amy) of Chicago, IL, and Vanessa Stanley (Chad) of Buna, TX; step mother, Dorothy McFarlain of Westlake; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew.
A celebration of Mr. McFarlain’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Sunday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
