Carol Castille Burleson

Carol Castille “Monk” Burleson, 79, of Sulphur, passed away on July 16, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Carol was born on February 26, 1946, in Jennings, LA, to Henry “Pontoon Castille and Mildred LeJeune Castille. She grew up in Edgerly until her marriage brought her to Sulphur. Carol loved to watch game shows and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved her grandbabies, great grandbabies, and every baby she saw. Carol looked forward to Inky Pinky trips every November with the girls where a good time was had.

Carol is survived by the father of her children, Nolan Burleson; her children, Russell Burleson and wife, Telisa, Paula LeDoux and husband, Kurt, Sandy Parker and fiancé, Rick Fitts, Randy Burleson and wife, Rachel, and Kelley Burleson; grandchildren, Katy, Tyler, Hunter (Lauren), Jeffrey (Brittney), Derek (Ashley), Jared (NaToshia), Marlana (Justin), Malerie (Chris), Ashley (Donald), Hilarie (Justin), Lanie, and Lydia; great grandchildren, Skyla, Hallie, Bennett, Chandler, Carbon, Nolan, Avery, Winston, Hendrix, Halen, Liam, Alexander, Gracie, Chloe, Molli, Ryder, and Hank; her sisters, Linda Viator and husband, Gary, Carolyn Matney and husband, James and Cindy Touchet and husband, Randy; two honorary daughters, Allison Malone and Carolyn Petty; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and great grandson, Seth and her brother, Jerry Castille.

Services for Carol will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur at 11 AM. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 5-8 PM with a rosary recited at 6 PM and from 9AM until the time of service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly.
