Carol Courmier

Carol Dean Butcher Courmier, 78, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Mrs. Courmier was born June 18, 1943 in Westlake, LA and moved to Lake Charles in 1966.  She worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board, mostly at College Oaks as the Cafeteria Manager, Para, and in after school daycare.  She also enjoyed substituting in the Special Education classes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chad Courmier and Robert Courmier and wife Kerri; the loves of her life, her granddaughters, Kristi Kai Courmier-Deranger and Robyn Karol Courmier; and great-grandchild, Mila Deranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Clara Butcher; husband, Robert Courmier; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Courmier; the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Kristian Lynn Courmier; brother, Charlie Butcher; sister, Ethel Doucette and husband Weldon.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at East Ridge Baptist Church.  Reverend Alan Weishampel will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  A gathering of family and friends will be at the church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
