Carol Ann Paggen, 76, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with her two sons by her side.
Carol was born on May 13, 1949, in Colchester, England, to Colin and Agnes Little Mitchell. She made her way to the United States in 1968, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of her life. The following year, she met Marvin in Victoria, Texas. Their love grew quickly, and they were married in 1969, sharing 49 devoted years together until his passing in 2018.
A dedicated homemaker, Carol’s life was centered on her family. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother who took great pride in raising her two sons. In time, her joy only grew as she became a grandmother, a role she cherished deeply. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Carol found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a gift for creating a warm and welcoming home, often expressed through her love of decorating and caring for her plants. She had a special fondness for cats and a deep appreciation for travel, with New Zealand and the Colorado mountains among her favorite destinations. Wherever she went, she carried a quiet strength and a gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on those around her.
Carol will be remembered for her quiet devotion to her family, her gentle nature, and the love she shared so freely. May she rest in the peace of Christ, reunited with those who have gone before her.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Paggen and his wife, Molly, and Rob Paggen and his wife, Jennifer; her beloved grandchildren, Caleb, Colin, and Sarah; and her sister, Jennifer Griffith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Marvin Paggen; her parents; and her sister, Ann Shank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5495 Elliott Road, with Msgr. Jace Eskind serving as Celebrant.
