Carolyn “Dolly” Boudreaux Moreau, or as many knew her “Dolly”, passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Dolly was born on August 27, 1959, to Vickman and Dale Boudreaux. Most of her life, she called Lawtell, LA home until moving to Port Barre only a few years ago. She worked as a pharmacy tech for many years then moved on to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Dept. Many lifelong friends were made there and she was loved by all her co-workers. She was known as “Mama Dolly” to everyone she encountered through Kevin and Chad’s many extracurricular activities. She never met a stranger. Dolly was a lover of family, friends, and a good visit with a cup of community coffee. There was never a time the coffee pot was not ready to just as she said, “I just have to hit the button.” She was a lover of a good phone call and conversations and later in life, she became an avid user of Facebook and boy was she a clicker and commenter. And let’s not forget her love for Monopoly Go. She cherished the time with her grandkids, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dolly is survived by her sons Kevin Moreau and Chad Moreau and wife Jennifer Richard Moreau and grandsons, Hayden and Jackson “Jack” Moreau. Also carrying on her memory are her sisters Debra Stelly and Julien Dale, Jackie Pitre and husband Paul, brother Ronnie Boudreaux and wife Kaye. She also had great in-laws Joseph “Joey” Moreau and wife Amaryllis, and Carolyn Caskey and husband Billy, and Angela Capon and husband Steve along with her Uncle Harold Dale Soileau and wife Kathy, sisters in law, Diane Boudreaux, Lisa Boudreaux and Sheila Boudreaux.
She was also the favorite aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Also remembering her; although not blood related, is a life-long friend, Hulin “Jimmy” Hollier who was a constant in both her and Mike’s life and the families for over 50 years.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years Michael “Mike” Moreau, her parents Vickman and Dale Boudreau, grandparents Paul and Lela D’Augereaux, along with her brothers Ernie Boudreaux, Sr. Dwayne Boudreaux, and Bruce Boudreaux and a host of in-laws.
Pall bearers will be Jimmy Hollier, Ronnie Boudreaux, Hayden Moreau, Paul Pitre, Billy Caskey, Caleb “Bubba” Hicks. Honorary Pall Bearer will be Jackson Moreau.
