Carolyn Dale Jackson Gifford

Carolyn Dale Jackson Gifford, 81, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born on October 7, 1944, to Gloria Ellen Manning and Carl Wilson Jackson, Carolyn lived a life marked by faith, family, and an unyielding eye for a bargain.

A proud graduate of McNeese State University with a bachelor's degree, Carolyn channeled her sharp mind and steadfast dedication into both community and commerce. For 15 years, she served as treasurer of the Republican Women's Club, and for decades she owned and managed rental properties with the same care she brought to every endeavor.

In her garden, roses flourished under her attentive hands; at weekend garage sales, treasures emerged from her keen negotiations. Yet nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with family-especially her grandchildren, whose laughter filled her heart.

She attended Trinity Baptist Church and her deep Christian faith guided her through every season of life.

Cherishing her memory are her son, Duane Carl Gifford, and wife Kelly; grandchildren Taylor Duane Gifford and wife Kristen, and Baylee Burman and husband Blake; great-grandchildren Emma Gifford and Barron Burman; and siblings Dana Jackson and wife Melody, and Jacqueline Neal and husband Ronald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Carl Jackson.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
