Born on March 8, 1941 in Jennings, La, he touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. A devoted family man, he worked tirelessly to provide for those he loved and always put others before himself.
He was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Ursula Koenig Broussard, his mother, Elia King, his father Claude Broussard and his siblings, Kenneth Broussard, Earline Hebert, Esther Brown, Ernest Broussard, Darnell Broussard, Dorsey Brossette, Donald King and Eric Camel.
Throughout his life, our father was known for his integrity, sense of humor, and generous spirit. He was a decorated U.S Army Vietnam War Veteran who served his country proudly for 21 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, camping, fishing, traveling, and creating memories that we will cherish forever. His legacy will live on in the values he instilled in us and the love he gave so freely.
He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, including his two daughters-Bianca Broussard Brooks and her partner Shane Evans, and Vanadis Broussard Fowler, who is married to Chris Fowler. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called him Puhpah.
His spirit will remain with us always. We take comfort in knowing that his memory will continue to inspire and guide us and that he has happily reunited with our mother.
We thank the staff and veterans at SWLA Veterans Home for their support, care, love and friendship to our father over the years.
