Carroll Ray Dailey, 69, of Sulphur passed away on January 10, 2017. He was born and raised in Lake Charles and lived most of his life in Sulphur. Carroll was a graduate of Lake Charles High “Wildcats” in 1965 and a graduate of McNeese in 1969. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur, an educator of Calcasieu Parish for 20 years, an educator of Katy Independence School District for 20 years, and a Supervisor of student teachers for McNeese for 3 years. Carroll enjoyed music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Carroll is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Dailey; his daughter, Kelly Butler (Wally); 3 grandchildren, Sky Britney Butler and fiancé Rafe Loupe, Katelyn Butler and fiancé Caleb Malone, and Mallory Butler all of Sulphur; his mother, Velma H. Dailey; his sister, Peggy A. Dailey; and numerous loving family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Oran Dailey; his mother-in-law, Wanda Bishop; and his nephew, Clancy Janies.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev. David Holder officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, from 4-8 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday at First Baptist Church at 12 P.M. until time of the service.
