Cary Wayne Martin, beloved husband, grandfather, and great grandfather, peacefully passed from this world to the glory of heaven on September 18, 2015. Cary was born in Lake Charles, LA on May 16, 1943 to Lucius Cary Martin and Ruby Lucille Heath Martin. Cary was a kind, gentle, soft spoken man. He was known for his patience and endurance and he listened to all with an open and caring heart. Cary was a member of St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church and a Charter Member of Oak Park Methodist Church. This church was founded and built by a group which included his father and mother as Charter Members. Cary was a 1961 LaGrange High School graduate and a 1968 McNeese State University graduate. He later continued his education and studied for five years to attain his Architectural Hardware Consultant degree known as the AHC. Cary was known for his generous hospitality for barbecuing for family and company functions. He also enjoyed watching football, and supporting McNeese and the Saints. He traveled to out of town games with the Bennie Bus Tour Company. Cary loved piling everyone on to his pontoon boat and traveling on the water. Cary worked long and hard to achieve his goal of owning his own business. He realized his goal when he and Beverly acquired Browne-Stewart Company, a 35 year old Lake Charles locally owned business. He and Beverly along with his dedicated staff grew this company into a profitable business. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beverly; and children, Colleen Vincent (Bill Sorkow), Chad Vinson and wife Tammy, Shelley Martin and fiancé Lee Pronia, Lori Guillory, husband Ivan and son Brett Martin; loving extended family son, George C. Jones and devoted Lonnie Comeaux; 15 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Brawner (Sal Gargano) of Tampa, FL; brothers, Robert Martin (Penny Derose) of Maplewood, and Gary Martin of Fort Worth, TX; also brothers from another mother, Tom Sims, Bennie Ringo, and Al Ellender; loving brother-in-law, Eddie Landreneau and C.J. Granger and many wonderful caring friends and family. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home and will resume on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 8:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Pallbearers for services will be: Ross Vincent, Sean Vincent, Dylan Baehr, Chase Guillory, Zack Vincent, Haydin Martin and Hunter Martin.
