Lake Charles

Casey Ryan Lanthier, 28, of Sulphur, LA passed away Friday, October 9, 2026 in local hospital having succumbed to his injuries following a motor vehicle accident.

Casey was born in Sulphur and was a graduate of Sulphur High School. He resided in Sulphur and Lake Charles. Following graduation, Casey worked with his father, taking on a variety of handyman and home-improvement projects. He also helped his grandfather build his shop, later worked with his uncle in the construction industry, and spent a short time in retail. He was a dedicated asset, willing to lend a hand, work hard and enjoyed working with family.

Some of Casey’s happiest memories were made with family and friends: playing games, entertainment, watching and “narrating” movies, and spending time together outdoors. His passion was fishing, primarily saltwater fishing. He took pleasure in organizing his tackle and taking apart and reassembling his rods and reels. Fishing and camping at Toledo Bend, visiting campgrounds and state parks, and gatherings around bonfires were among his most treasured times. Casey had an appreciation for art and a particular talent for drawings, crosses amongst his favorites, having earned awards for his work. He enjoyed creating and wearing unique beaded necklaces and bracelets. A fan of many musical genres, he favored classic rock and learned to play the guitar.

A man of faith, Casey was a former member of First Baptist Church and Bible study. His life was enriched by the people he loved and the time they shared. He will be lovingly remembered for his smile, funny faces and joy of making people laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Stephanie Lynn Wing Lanthier and fiancé Burnice Bennett, of Lake Charles; father, Cory Matthew Lanthier and wife Connie of Sulphur; maternal grandmothers, Valery O’Quain, Margaret O’Quain Wing and Patricia East; grandfather, Patrick Wing; five siblings, Kassidy Morgan Lanthier, Tyler Gage Lanthier, Breanna Page Wing, Desiree Michon Parker (Drew) and Kaleigh Marie Alaniz; two aunts, Rebecca Lanthier Hopkins (Shelly) and Katie Natali Lanthier; nine uncles, Jason Domingue, Vernon East, Jr. (Holly), Justin East, James East Guidry (Danny), Daniel Wayne Lanthier, Jason Robert Lanthier, James LeBlanc, Tony LeBlanc (Krystal) and Nicholas Wing; nieces, Paisley, Shyann Parker and Violet Guzman; nephews, Jordan Guzman, Jaxon Guzman, Bryce Parker and Dakota Parker; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Vernon East and paternal grandparents, Dennis and Sharon Lanthier.
