Caswell Scott Wehner, 97, of Lake Charles, LA died Friday, October 28, 2016 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Caswell was born on July 26, 1919 in Beaumont, TX to Barney Caswell Scott and Kizzie Bugg Scott. When Caswell was 2 years old, the family moved to The Sulfur Mines, LA where she grew up. Caswell attended USL and LSU before moving to Lake Charles in 1938 to help her mother following her father’s tragic death.
Caswell was an avid gardener, filling her yard with beautiful flowers and exotic plants. She also loved to read and paint.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Morrow of Lafayette, LA and Cindy Fronczek and husband William of Woodville, TX, and her daughter-in-law, Ann Wehner. Also she left grandchildren, Laurie Wehring and husband Brad, Kristin Gorton, Elizabeth Romig and husband Eric, Stuart Morrow and wife Lauren, Phillip Fronczek and wife Lara, and Jennifer Fabiyanic and husband Clint. She left 8 great - grandchildren.
Caswell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Dr. Barney Boyle Wehner; son Barney Scott Wehner; and her parents Barney Caswell Scott and Kizzie Bugg Scott.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Father Jack Myers will officiate services. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
