Cecil Wayne Stogsdill, 94, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 28, 1931, in Tunas, Missouri, to Noah and Ida Stogsdill.
Cecil loved motorcycles and cars, owning nearly 90 over his lifetime. He enjoyed traveling with Earline, especially their memorable trip to Missouri on his motorcycle. A true handyman, he could fix almost anything and also owned and operated a successful AC company and alarm system business.
Music was another of Cecil's joys. He played guitar, dulcimer, banjo, harmonica, piano, organ, and violin, and loved sharing his music with family and friends. He also enjoyed boating, being outdoors, and caring for animals.
Cecil spent 68 years with the love of his life, Earline, whom he met at the Church of the Nazarene. Together, they raised three daughters, Ruth, Linda, and Janet Stogsdill, and built a life filled with family and faith.
Cecil is survived by his daughters Ruth Meaux, Linda Beverly and husband Dwayne, and Janet Stogsdill; grandchildren Lisa Meaux, Heather Wilcox and husband Michael, Heidi Craig and husband Adam; great-grandchildren Elliot and Adelin Craig; and siblings Peggy Ford and Don Stogsdill and wife Elaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Ida Stogsdill, and his wonderful wife, Earline Stogsdill.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery, 178 S. Perkins Ferry Rd., Lake Charles.
Cecil will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully. He will be greatly missed.
