Celsa Del Rio Huebel

Celsa Garcia Del Rio Huebel, 76, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

Born April 6, 1945 in Zacatecas, Mexico, Ms. Huebel traveled with her first husband’s military career before living many years in Houston, TX and the past forty years in Lake Charles.  She worked as a hairstylist in Houston and Lake Charles for many years and later in housekeeping for the Isle of Capri and L’Auberge Casino.  Ms. Huebel recently began attending St. Margaret Catholic Church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who had a green thumb and also had a love for her family.

Ms. Huebel is survived by her daughters, Leticia Riggs and husband Joe Riggs of St. Louis, MO and Edna Del Rio and fiancé Dalton Leger of Lake Charles, LA; son, Anthony Huebel; brothers, Jose C. Garcia and Victor R. Garcia; sisters, Tomasita Rodriguez and Lola Rodriguez; and grandchildren, Claire and Caila Riggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Josie McCullough and Lupe Rodriguez; and the father of her children, Angel Del Rio.

Her memorial service will be 10:00 AM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at St. Margaret Catholic Church.  The Rev. Nathan Long will officiate.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A gathering will begin at 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
