Chad Emery Leger

September 18, 1989 — May 23, 2026

Sulphur, Louisiana

Chad Emery Leger, 36, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. He was born on September 18, 1989, in Houston, Texas, to Richard and Michelle Leger.

Chad grew up in Welsh, Louisiana, where he attended Welsh High School. He had a sharp mind and enjoyed the challenge and strategy of playing chess. During his school years, he was a member of the Welsh High School Chess Club, where his intelligence and thoughtful nature were evident.

Chad was a creative and hands-on person who enjoyed poetry, woodworking and gardening. He especially loved growing peppers of every kind. Whether working with his hands, spending time outdoors, or sharing his ideas with others, Chad saw the world in his own unique way. He was intelligent, thoughtful, and often thought outside the box, bringing a perspective that left an impression on those who knew him.

Above all, Chad loved his family deeply. He had a generous heart and was the kind of person who would be there for anyone who needed help, encouragement, or simply someone to talk to. He had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Heavenly Star Leger; his parents, Richard Leger and wife Natalie, and Michelle Leger; his sister, Lacey Savant and husband Cole; his brother, Merlyn Leger and wife Gabrielle; his former wife, Kacie Easley; along with many other family members and dear friends who loved him.

Chad’s sudden passing has brought deep sorrow to his family and all who knew him. He will be remembered for his heart, his creativity, his intelligence, and the love he shared with those closest to him. May his memory bring comfort, and may he rest in peace.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date.
