Charlene Labouve, born July 28, 1953, daughter of Dalton Joseph Trahan and Goldie Francis Robinson Trahan Breaux, passed away in a local care facility Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the age of 69.
Charlene enjoyed painting, puzzles, dancing to French music, and watching game shows.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dorris Joseph “Snooky” Trahan, E. J. Trahan, Rodney Trahan, Oddley Trahan, Loyce Marie Trahan, Beverly Higginbotham; stepfather, Elias Breaux; half siblings, J.C. Breaux, Irene LeDoux, Lou Ethel East, Ernest Breaux, and Mary Lou Harrell.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Jimmy Labouve; daughter, Leona Ickes; siblings, Floyd Trahan; Velma Leah Ledkins, Orlene Lopez (Perry), and Linda Thibodeaux (Carroll); grandchildren, Lacey Cates; Simon Carter, Jr.; Stephen Carter, and James Kubisch; great-grandchildren, Josenid; Enrique; Braxton; Brandon; Tyler, and Jay.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. A burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
