Charles Alexander McKee, 80, of Sulphur, LA, died at 1:45 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in his residence.
Mr. McKee was born May 4, 1939 in Minden, LA and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of McKee Reality in Port St. Lucie, FL for a number of years and later worked as a traveling medical equipment salesman for Medkwik. Mr. McKee has lived in the Lake Charles / Sulphur are for over fifteen years. He was very active with his community while living in Florida, California and other places that he called home. He was an accomplished cook, loved visiting with people, and enjoyed reliving his Motown days, working the racing circuit, and rubbing shoulders with movie stars.
Mr. McKee is survived by his daughter, Tracey Bean and husband David of Warren, MI; son, Robert Webb and wife Jamie, also of Michigan; brother, Paul McKee and wife Shirley of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Mark McKee and wife Jessica, Richard Gilbert and wife Stacy, Crystal Ramirez and husband Alonso, and Damian McKee; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Jim Coward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac McKee and Morris Utermolen; brother, Murphy James McKee; and sister, Karol Lynn McKee Hutchinson.
His memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 11, 2019 at University United Methodist Church. Reverend Katie Simpson will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday at the church. Military honors will be rendered at the time of his burial in Michigan.
