Charles Robert "Bobby" Thigpen

Lake Charles – Charles Robert “Bobby” Thigpen, son of the late Robert Lee and Mable Lucille Browdy Thigpen, born December 8, 1949 in Lake Charles, passed away in his residence Friday, September 21, 2018, at the age of 68.
Bobby was a graduate of Sam Houston High and retired from Citgo. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles. Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Thigpen Deshotel (Valery), Sheila Thigpen Fontenot (Wayne), Robert Thigpen (Melinda) and Michael Thigpen (Laura); siblings, Vickie Thigpen Miller and LeRoy Thigpen (Rita), all of Lake Charles; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and spouse, Mary Ann Thigpen.
Funeral services are Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with the Revs. Marcus Wade and Harry Sommers officiating. Burial will follow in Creel Cemetery in Reeves, Louisiana.
Visitation is Sunday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
