Charles E. Hammond, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Hammond; two daughters, Debbie Hammond of Houma, LA and Peggy Dorsey of Groves, TX; chosen son, Dan Ackel of Westlake; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, “Peaches.”
Charles was as Sulphur resident for 62 years and was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and a little fishing. He was member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 106, and was a pipefitter for PPG for 32 years. Charles was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was as a man who held high standards and expected nothing less from others. He will be remembered as a loving family man who stood for honesty and integrity.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service.
