Charles Edward Hunter

Jul 5, 1954 — Jul 22, 2026

Charles Edward Hunter passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

He was born on July 5, 1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Edward and Lucille Hunter. Charles owned and operated Harlequin Steaks and Seafood for many years. He fondly cherished those years working in the restaurant business and working alongside his family.

Charles probably felt most at home and fulfilled when he was hunting in the marsh or fishing in Big Lake. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed the countless fishing and hunting trips with friends and family.

Later in life, and even up to his last moments, he enjoyed reminiscing about the countless friends and memories he made along his journey. Friends and family recall him as a man full of life, vigor, and joy in his prime.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucille Hunter. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Nicholas (Becky), and Ashton (Bailey); brother, Thomas (Carlos); and grandchildren, Harrison, Colette, Evangeline, and Bodhi. Charles's family also wishes to express thanks and appreciation to Charles's caregivers and the many friends who visited Charles over these last few months, especially Ray Morgan and Gray Little.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to honor Charles make a donation to CCA Louisiana or the charity of their choice. The family invites friends to join them on Monday August 3, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Villa Harlequin to gather and share memories.
