Charles Edwin Isdale, Jr., 61, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:20 PM on Monday, November 2, 2026 in a Baton Rouge hospital.
Born on December 31, 1964, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was raised in Champaign, Illinois, where he spent his formative years. He graduated from the University of Illinois High School in Urbana, Illinois, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Eastern Illinois University. He dedicated his entire professional career to computer programming, a field where he could put his knowledge, skills, and talents to work.
But beyond his education and career, what truly defined him was the way he treated others. He was a friend to everyone, someone who never met a stranger and never met anyone he didn't like. He had a special way of making people feel welcome, valued, and respected. He spoke to everyone with love and kindness, always ready with a smile and a listening ear for anyone who needed one.
He was also a recipient of the American Organ Transplant Association, a meaningful part of his life story. An avid photographer, he enjoyed capturing the beauty of the world around him, preserving special moments and memories through his lens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rachael Isdale; sisters, Amberly Savage and Jennifer Hunt; and aunts, Claudia, Carolyn, and Babs.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Brown and father Charles Isdale, Sr.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
