Charles Ricky LeJune, lovingly known to all as "Uncle Rick," passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on January 13, 1958, in Church Point, Louisiana, Rick’s life was a testament to joy, resilience, and unwavering love.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, JD and Pearl LeJune, and his brother-in-law Henry Chargois. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted sister and lifelong caregiver, Sandra Chargois; his brothers James (Pat) LeJune and Mark (Faye) LeJune; nieces Tracy (Derek) Thigpen and Mandie LeJune; nephews Barry (Shavanah) Chargois, Brian LeJune, Joel (Shontal) LeJune, Mark Jr. (Brandi) LeJune, and Michael (Janet) Chargois. Rick’s legacy also lives on in the hearts of his 20 great-nieces and nephews, 13 great-grandnieces and grandnephews, and countless other family members, friends, and those lucky enough to have known him.
Rick was the heart of every gathering—a natural entertainer who loved music, dancing, and spreading joy wherever he went. Whether he was busting a move at a family party, belting out a favorite tune, or donning the red suit to play Santa Claus for the children at Christmas, Uncle Rick had a way of making every moment magical. His smile could light up a room, and his sense of humor and charm were unforgettable.
Despite life’s challenges, Rick never lost his spirit. He was a fighter to the very end—strong, determined, and brave. Even in illness, he never let go of his joy, his laughter, or his love for a good ice-cold Coke. His positivity and courage were inspiring, and though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing he is no longer in pain.
Rick was rooted in his Catholic faith, a reflection of the love and values instilled in him by his family and a beloved member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8978. He will be missed more than words can express, but we take solace in knowing that his light lives on in each of us.
Rest easy, Uncle Rick. Your song may have ended, but the melody of your life will play in our hearts forever
