Charles Andra Ned, born in Lake Charles on October 5, 1963, son of Benjamin Edward and Ruby Gallow Ned, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of sixty.
A graduate of Barbe High School, Charles worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board and was also self-employed. He enjoyed trail rides, calf roping, and spending time at the car wash with his friends keeping his trucks clean, talking on the phone, and loved Zydeco.
Charles was always there to help someone in need whether he knew them or not. He was one of the men behind the scenes to decorate Our Lady Queen of Heaven for holy days and was also a horse Soldier in the Live Stations of the Cross at Consolata for six years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Edward Ned, Sr.; daughter, Leayra Ned and nephew, Albert Stephen Ned, Jr.
Survivors are his loving and devoted wife of almost thirty years, Allison Ned; children, Charles Ned, II and wife, Kaitlyn, and Autumn Ned; siblings, Joseph Ned and wife, Kristin, Albert Ned and wife, Tina, Benjamin Ned, Jr. and wife, Anissa, and Synthia Carrier and husband, Elwayne; grandchildren, Charles Ned, III, and Izabella Ned. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who mourn his passing.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in Our Lady Queen of Heaven on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the church at 9 a.m.
