Charles "Charlie" Nicholas George

Charles “Charlie” Nicholas George, born in Lake Charles, on November 5, 1947, son of the late Emile and Louise Alwhite George, passed away in his residence on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the age of 76.

Charlie proudly served his country during Vietnam as a member of the U. S. Marines. He owned and operated Lake Charles Dragway during the 1980’s, George’s Corvette and Country Club Paint & Body. He was instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the Dirty Rice Saloon in Iowa. He enjoyed motorcycles, corvettes, and especially spoiling his wife, Heidi. His kind and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 16 years, Heidi LeBert; sons, Jeremy George (Cierra) and Christopher George; stepdaughters, Erica Gibbs (Matthew), Brittney Beale (Aaron), and Erin Dagenhardt (Andrew); siblings, Johnny George (Jolyne), Linda George Sharpe; grandchildren, Madilynn and Nicholas George, Jaydon, Grayson, Olivia Gibbs, Tyler, Wyatt, Brandt, and Camille Cobb; beloved pets, Tallulah and Bubba.

A gathering of friends and family will begin on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
