Charles Ray Minter

Charles Ray Minter, 87, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, died at 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in the comfort of his home. He is now in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.

Mr. Minter was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on September 2, 1931. He worked for years in the oilfield and retired from PPG Industries. He enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends, doing “honey-do’s” for the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Willie Mae, and caring for the needs of others.

Mr. Minter leaves to honor his memory five children, Carol Minter Coleman of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Rachel Guidry and husband Ron of Houston, Texas, Charles Dale Minter and wife Jane of Cochranville, Pennsylvania, Cris Forrest of Iowa, Louisiana, and Gwynn Houston of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Pasley, age 89, who resides in Tow, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Clara Minter, by his beloved wife, Willie Mae Minter, and by his recently deceased great-great grandson, Ollie, who is certainly showing him around in Heaven this moment.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, conducted by his grandson, Reverend Brian Minter, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Llano, Texas. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.
