Lake Charles – Chester Burton “Big Burt” Bellard, Sr., born in Rayne on September 30, 1962, son of the late Chester and Amy Arsement Bellard, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the age of 56.
Big Burt was a 1980 graduate of LaGrange High School and was a NACE coating inspector for Natural Energy Field Services. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he would do anything for them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tammy Bellard of Dry Creek; son, Chester Burton “Lil Burt” Bellard, Jr. and wife, Kristin, of Ragley; siblings, Richard “Ricky” Bellard and wife, Darlene, of Princeton, LA, Tonette Lovett and husband, Doc, of Haughton, LA and Becky LaFleur and husband, David, of Big Lake, LA; grandchildren, Karis, Savannah and Jayden Bellard; and many nieces & nephews left to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tony Bellard and 2 nephews, David Ryan LaFleur and David Russell Lovett.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Edigo officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery. Visitation begins Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa and will resume Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
