Christine Ann Trosclair

October 18, 1949 — February 19, 2026

Christine Ann Domingue Trosclair, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 18, 1949, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Rose T. and Sidney H. Domingue. Christine graduated in 1967 from Vinton High School, where she met the love of her life, Ronnie. Their beautiful love story spanned 58 devoted years of marriage.

Christine was a certified pharmacy technician who truly loved her work. She faithfully served the community at Moreau's Drug Store in Vinton, working for Leroy and Carolyn Slack.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Christine was a devout Catholic whose life reflected her strong spiritual foundation. Her faith guided her in every role she held - as wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was a proud Cajun woman who cherished her heritage and ancestry. As one of the 64 grandchildren of Joseph Derneville Domingue and Marie Anais Mouton, she carried her family legacy with honor. Her love of history and culture led her to work at the Vinton Welcome Center for the Louisiana Office of Tourism, where she joyfully shared her rich Cajun heritage with visitors.

Christine was a talented cook who filled her home with warmth through her meals. She enjoyed tole painting, crocheting, and was a gifted seamstress. Her hands were rarely idle, and everything she created was done with love.

Above all, Christine's greatest joy was her family. While she was a devoted and loving wife to Ronnie, her most treasured role was that of mother. She poured her heart into raising her daughters and later embraced the cherished title of "Mammy" to her grandson and three granddaughters. Being Mammy brought her immeasurable happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald "Ronnie" Joseph Trosclair; daughters, Leanne Gonsoulin of Lake Charles, LA, and Allison Blanchard and husband Jim of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Jules Ronald Gonsoulin and wife Caitlin of New Braunfels, TX, Jolie Ann Gonsoulin and partner Tyler Moore of Baton Rouge, LA, and Marigny Claire Blanchard and Juliana Brigid Blanchard of Alexandria, VA, as well as many beloved family, friends, and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Christine's life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, heritage, and love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ron Lewis, NP Keysha Nabours, and NP Amanda Burnett, as well as the other physicians, nurses, and staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital who compassionately cared for Christine.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in her memory.
