Christopher David McKnight

September 18, 1979 — May 20, 2025

Christopher David McKnight, 45, passed away on May 20, 2025 in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on September 18, 1979 in Houston, TX to Manuel David McKnight and Rhonda Holden Sartin.

Chris was a man of many talents and deep passions. Chris loved God and He found joy behind a drum kit and pride in his craft as a certified auto and aircraft mechanic, dedicating over 20 years to mastering both. His hands were just as skilled with wood. He enjoyed carpentry and his heart beat in time with music.

He had a special love for animals, especially his loyal dogs and, from time to time, a curious cat named Edna. Chris loved to cook, travel, and wander through high-end shops he couldn’t quite afford, more for the joy of the experience than the purchase.

Chris had a keen eye for style and a true appreciation for the details. He always smelled amazing, favoring fragrances that lingered gently and left an impression. Fashion wasn’t just something he enjoyed, it was something he shared. He took genuine joy in helping others find the right suit, the perfect fit, and the confidence that came with putting their best foot forward. Dressing well, to Chris, was an act of self-respect and celebration.

He cherished time with family, especially when cheering on his nieces and nephews at their birthday parties, games and special events. A true LSU fan, he was known for his animated commentary on every play.

Above all, Chris loved God. His faith was a steady presence in his life, and he carried a deep passion for his relationship with the Lord. Chris lived with humor, heart, and a down-to-earth joy in the things that mattered most. He will be missed more than words can say.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his mom, Rhonda Sartin; his dad, Rick Sartin; his brothers, Justin Sartin and Michael Sartin; his nephews Heston, Jack and Lincoln and his niece Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Manuel David McKnight.
