Clara Maurice Woolfolk Murrell passed away at her home in Lake Charles on May 31,2026 at the age of 98.
She was a talented and creative woman who loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, and just about any craft that involved a needle and thread. If there was something that could be made by hand, she could do it. She spent countless hours creating beautiful things and sharing her talents with others.
Alongside her husband, Raymond, she traveled to craft shows all over the country, from Florida to Ohio and many places in between. Wherever there was a craft show, there was a good chance they would be there. One of their favorite traditions was dressing as Santa and Mrs. Claus each year, bringing smiles to everyone they met.
She also loved reading and adored cats, especially her recent cat, Tuffy.
One of the greatest blessings of her life was her marriage to Raymond Murrell. Their story began when she invited a young serviceman to church. The two ended up sharing 56 wonderful years of marriage before Raymond's passing in 2002.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, C.J. Roberts, Cathy Trouard (Brad), and Cheryl Albers; her grandchildren, Benton Murrell Roberts (Michelle), Ashley Needler (Jon), Brian Trouard (Erin), and Holly Albers; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Tuffy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years, Raymond Murrell.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her sitters and caregivers for their round-the-clock care, and friendship. Over the years, they became much more than caregivers, they became family.
A private graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.
