Clarence Lee "Chuck" Johns, 93, of Sulphur passed away at 8:40 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in a local hospital.
Mr. Johns was born on May 4, 1932, in Tuskegee, Alabama. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a member of the United States Army, earning numerous medals for his bravery and dedication.
Following his military service, Mr. Johns settled in Sulphur, Louisiana, where he continued to serve his community as a security guard at PPG until his retirement.
He was a faithful member of Houston River Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and strength in his faith. Outside of his professional and spiritual life, Mr. Johns was an avid gardener who found great joy in working in his yard.
Mr. Johns was a devoted father who loved and adored all four of his children.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Larry Felice (Rachael), Paul Felice (Donna), Keith Felice (Melissa), and Lisa Langley; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Roberts Johns; parents, Mary Alice and John Thomas Johns; a brother; a sister; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Felice.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Houston River Baptist Church. Pastor Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue in the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the start of the service.
