Claudette Ann Faux

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Claudette Ann Kelley Faux, a cherished wife, mother, friend and caregiver, 71, of Sulphur, LA, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Faux was born in Texas and lived most of her life in Sulphur. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School. Following high school, she worked at several local retailers and at the age of eighteen married and started a family. She loved being a mom, having fun with her kids, was ever present for her children’s school functions and activities and always looked forward to the adventures of RV family vacations. She and her best friend made mothering a joint effort, often spending the day together with their children “dragging the roads” to pay bills, go shopping, picnic and play in the park and spent many afternoons planning birthday parties and holidays right down to the birthday cakes and Christmas wreaths they created. Mrs. Faux also instilled in her children the importance of a relationship with Jesus and raised them as members of Trinity Baptist Church of Sulphur where she was the church secretary and taught Sunday school. After experiencing the loss of her husband, she later found love again in a lifelong family friend, her best friend’s brother. Together they found their greatest joy was being grandparents and she embraced the privilege of taking care of all her grandchildren in their home. Mrs. Faux will be most remembered for her legacy of love and devotion to her family, her kindness and her strength and determination to always be there.

Mrs. Faux leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly twenty-five years, Dicky Eugene Faux of Sulphur; two daughters, Jessica Benoit Dupré (Scott), and Brenda Benoit Cash (Dustin) both of Sulphur, LA; one son, Thomas Lynn Benoit, Jr. (Dana) of Tickfaw, LA; eight grandchildren, Caleb Scott Dupre', Brooklynn Faye Cash, Tatum Jayde Benoit, Kendall Ann Cash, Blaikley Peyton Benoit, Arial Lorraine Mathis, Kade Simon Martin Chapman, and Ethaniel Scott Sonnier; one great grandchild; Zafiar Zy’Nique Dejean; one sister, Rhonda Marie Kelley of Denham Springs, LA; sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Nadine Touchette (Adam) of Sulphur, LA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Wilbur Kelley and Margaret Swire Kelley; brothers, Floyd Wilbur Kelley, Jr., and Gene Kelley; sister, Pearl Catherine Kelley and husband of twenty-four years and father of her children, Thomas Lynn Benoit, Sr., affectionately known as “Tommy” and “Smiley”.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Reverend Lamar Huffman will officiate. Interment services will follow at Farquhar Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation Monday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

Pallbearers for her services will be Thomas Benoit, Caleb Scott Dupré, Scottie Touchette, Michael Touchette, Kade Chapman and Ethan Sonnier.
