Cleve Lawrence Christ

Mr. Christ was born December 22, 1922 in Eunice, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for the past seventy years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked as an operator at Cities Service for over thirty years. Mr. Christ was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. He had a passion for fishing, boating and his garden and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Christ is survived by his wife of seventy-five years, Emily Courville Christ; daughter, Barbara Nelson of Carlyss, LA; son, David Christ of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Mildred Schatzle and Lilly Mae Aucoin, both of Eunice, LA; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Don Christ; daughter, Beryl Miller; seven brothers; two sisters; and great-grandchild, Brett Miller.

His funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
