Clifford R. Stacy, 94, of Lake Charles, LA., peacefully passed away in his residence on Thursday, May 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Clifford was born to Walter and Ella (Henrich) Stacy on September 9, 1922, in Emerson, Nebraska.
A graduate of Lake Arthur High School, Clifford lived in Lake Charles since 1942. Clifford proudly served in the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters during World War II. He was a Sea Bee, serving with the 96th Naval Construction Battalion. After serving his country, Clifford went to work for PPG Industries in 1947 and retired in 1983 after working for 35 years.
Clifford was a member of VFW Post #2130, W.B. Williamson Post #1 of the American Legion. He enjoyed camping and was a member of Good Sam Club. He was a long-time member of University United Methodist Church in Lake Charles, LA.
Clifford is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Corbello Stacy, his second wife Ardena Stacy and his sister, Mary Stacy.
Clifford leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Jerry (Barbara) Stacy, and his daughter, Madelyn (Larry) McCallaster. He also leaves: one brother, David Stacy, three sisters; Velma Anderson, Betty Smith and Lois Schroeder. Clifford leaves seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with six step-children and numerous step grandchildren.
The family will receive guests from 4PM until 9PM on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jake Stacy, Drew Stacy, Seth Stacy, Darin Owens, Regan Jones, Cody Broussard and Thomas Broussard. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Harbor Hospice for their loving and gentle care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
