Clinton Paul Leger, Jr., 79, of Iowa, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2022 in the Guardian House in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
He was born on November 25, 1942 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Clinton and Mildred Leger. Clinton was a native of Fenton and resident of Iowa for most of his life. He was a faithful parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa. He was an also a past Grand Knight and current member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Calcasieu Drainage Board for many years. He was a rice farmer, and worked in the oilfield for many years. Clint was an accomplish cook, and he could often be found cooking in his own kitchen, and the K. C. Hall kitchen. He loved to fish, hunt, and golf, which he took up later in life. Clint enjoyed reading, and he especially loved to be with his dog, Ginger. He was a skilled woodworker who finished many wonder projects for his grandchildren.
Clint is survived by his wife, Susan Guillory Leger; daughters, Amy Leger, Elizabeth Leger Burt (Jeremy); son, Richard Leger (Ashley); siblings, Carroll Leger (Tracey), and Melanie Leger Blakeney (Jeff); grandchildren, Laura-Beth Karshner, Brian Karshner, Savannah Burt, Michael Burt; nephew, Logan Leger; grandniece, Genevieve Leger.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., and will resume Wednesday in the funeral from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
